Self Appreciation

You. You are flawed. You are broken. You are alone. Self appreciation does not mean ignoring all these facts. Let me tell what self appreciation means really.
It means saying –
“Yes, I am flawed. And while it might be my persona, it is NOT my personality. My flaws don’t define who I am”. Blaming the soul for something the mind did is not fair. Blaming the soul again and again because your mind keeps reminding you of your flaws is definitely far from fair. Your soul is still innocent and is probably not flawed. (atleast if you have’nt created a horcrux!) Whining in self pity and wallowing in self loathing will not change anything. So get up and say this- “I am flawed and I will give the best in my power to change that. But at the same time I wont let the sadness of my actions, the guilt of my mistakes and the feeling of incompleteness due to my incapabilities weigh me down. It is as simple as that. Change is in your own hands. I will get better, I will heal.” And of course, self appreciation is an important aspect of healing. Accepting your flaws and your whole body mind and soul is actually what self appreciation is.
