Pulse 2k16

Main rahoon ya na rahoon, tum mujhme kahin baaki rehna… This one’s for all my batchmates, for Pulse 2k16.
One year ago today we set off for a journey together. Before that, we were just familiar faces to each other -Classmates, that’s all. We didn’t know each other, not really. We claimed to have best friends and crushes, claimed to be batchmates to each other. But we weren’t really. The smiles we gave when we passed someone were empty. No memories, no stories relating us and them. We were secure in our own zones of comfort we had created for ourselves in the first year of this medical journey.
One year ago today, we stepped onto Kerela express with random companions. No one knew what was in store ahead. We thought it was just a trip, a change from the hectic schedule of a medical student’s life. “Are second year hi toh ek time hai enjoy karne ka!”,we had heard everyone say.”
So we set off. Some time to spend with our friends and batchmates, some places to visit and some memories to make. Some memories to make!
Little did we know that these memories, in fact, every single memory of every single minute brought us closer, gave us reason to smile at each other for years to come. We went together as classmates, but came back as batchmates. We brought back with us a box full of memories.
I bet after decades have passed, when we meet each other some day accidentally at some place, we will look back at this box of memories and think ‘Kya din the yaar vo college ke!’
